Brijrajdan comes from a house of lok sahitya. His father, Ishardan Gadhvi, is known for lok varta — folk tales told from the dayro stage, many of which still circulate on Gujarati music labels.

His official site describes his work as carrying that legacy forward, and puts a line from his father at its heart:

“લોકસંગીત એ સેવા છે, અને સેવા એ સૌથી મોટી ભક્તિ છે.”

II · The dayro

A night of song and story

દુહા, છંદ અને લોકવાર્તા

A dayro is Gujarat’s long-form evening of folk song, dohas, chhand and spoken tales. Brijrajdan moves between song and story across the night, sharing the stage with names like Sairam Dave in Jamnagar and Umesh Parmar in Kutch.

Recorded sessions on Gujarati labels trace the route: Gadhethad and Botad in 2016, Mota Bhadiya in Kutch in 2022, the centenary festival at Madhda in 2024, and a full dayro in Mumbai in 2025.

Devotion that gives back

ભજન અને સેવા

The Hanuman Chalisa is a regular part of his evenings, and several Gujarati channels carry live recordings of it.

Many of his dayros are organised for a cause. In June 2018, VTV Gujarati reported on a devotional dayro in Surat held to raise funds for a cow hospital, where the audience showered the stage with offerings as he sang.

Folk, made for the screen

On his own YouTube channel he releases produced songs: Rajputaniya, Kuldevi and Saavaj; the Navratri album Aai Aaradh (2023); the Shiva song Agadbam (2025); and Rang Morlo, set to classic Gujarati folk poetry.

He also works across genres. He sang Aadesh Aadesh with classical dancer Aishwarya Joshi, and features with MC Mawali on Bandish Projekt’s Ramwala.

Canada, America & home

In June 2026 he posted a greeting to his listeners from Niagara Falls, recorded “from the land of Canada and America”. His official site lists a dayro in Canada as coming soon.

Back home, spring 2026 took him from Porbandar and Dwarka to Shri Sonaldham in Madhada, then to Ahmedabad for Sarvani, a live bhajan evening.
